I have been baking a little bit lately. Just cookies...but at least its something. During one of the many snow storms we have been having Alex asked me before the snow hit if we had all the ingredients to make cookies. He was in no way concerned with the whole eggs, milk and bread he just wanted cookies. Cute but weird. I don't mind baking...well I just try to get it over as fast as I can.
I put an apron on and try get those babies in the oven pronto. The faster they get there the less batter I eat. You see, I like the batter more than the cookie. But the thing is they are not turning out as well as I would want. No matter what my cookies are not chewy. Its very annoying, they are not bad tasting or anything just not what I want. I seeked guidance from a friend and she said I need an over thermometer because maybe I was cooking them too hot. I got that but have been instructed by Alex's work that I can't keep on baking because everyone is getting fat. I am not going to eat those things so I just pass them along.
All that aside I found these really pretty cupcake stands that would make a cupcake or cookie for that matter sparkle and shine even if they happened to to taste really gross! Cause as long as it looks pretty then I feel good about my baking.

Try the Joy of Cooking recipe for Chocolate Chip Drop cookies. It's the best cookie recipe I've ever used! Watch the cookies and when they are flat and the outside edges start to get brown, take them out. Remember that the cookies keep cooking even when you take them out (that goes for anything with a lot of butter in it).
