Beautiful- brought me to FULL tears!

This is probably the best thing you will see all day.
Canadian couple Todd and Meaghan learned about the Mural Arts Program’s Love Letter Tour and coordinated an extended layover in Philadelphia (en route to Paris) to experience the popular tour, which takes guests on the Market-Frankford El to view a series of more than 50 rooftop murals and street-level signs in and around the Market Street corridor in West Philadelphia.
Todd contacted the Mural Arts tour office to let them know he wanted to propose to Meaghan on the tour and the Mural Arts Program offered a clever idea in making his marriage proposal extra special.
The above video shows how it all went down and is a result of Mural Arts Program’s partnership with The University of Pennsylvania — the Penn Singers Light Opera Company and the Penn Glee Club.

Around me StoryCorps comes on before 9am every Friday on NPR. There have been so many times I remember driving to work and turning the radio up really loud to just soak in what was being said. Most of the time I would shed a tear. It would not matter if it was a sad or happy story it was just the fact that I was hearing it from the real teller. Little snip its of someones life, so beautiful, pure and real. This animated video of a StoryCorps interview just made my heart swell and be forever thankful for a husband that loves me and a marriage that I hope goes in the path of devotion as this couple.

The other day when I was walking back to my car from the gym I was lucky enough to witness some pure young, I am guessing high school love. There was this young girl walking in front of me and her car happened to be parked 2 cars from mine. Well, waiting for her at her car was I am guessing her boyfriend with a bouquet of flowers. She saw him, screamed, "AHHHH, I hate you" and then give him the biggest hug ever. I think the boyfriend had been their for a long while because right after they hugged she then screamed " OH My GOD!!! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN HERE?" He, was all cute and said for a while, I had to find your car!! His buddy then popped up and said, Yeah, we had to look for a long time.

It was so cute, and young and made me smile for a long time. Maybe he was trying to make it up to her after a fight?

Juan and Catarina have been in a long distance relationship for 3.5 years. One night they decided to paint hearts under the tree that is below Catrina's bedroom window. It's their "Love Tree". Now when ever she looks out her window she thinks of them.

it's wedding time!

My brother Ben King is getting married tomorrow to Alena Lyons....we love her. Alex and I are both in the wedding. Don't they both look soooo good in these pictures!!! I can't wait to see Alena in her gown!! So, we are off on our road trip today and excited for all the upcoming events. Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!! Isn't Alena's new last name gonna rock....Lyons King!!!

Today marks 5 years that Alex and I have been together. I could not have asked for a better buddy, partner, boyfriend, fiancé and now husband. He is mine and I love him to bits.

Bunny Love

Is this not the cutest little bunny made of chocolate ever!! I just love it. Its from Vosges Haute Chocolate and my mother claims that there bacon chocolate candy bars are the best chocolate she has ever tasted. I personally think that is the most horrid, vile things ever...but whatever! I love bunnies and my bunny ( my hubby...shhh...don't tell) and I think this would be a super cute Easter gift for him that is really for me..hehe....

V-day un love.

Valentine's Day is just not my thing. I actually think it sucks and always wear black and try not to celebrate it. Try being the operative day. I had a boyfriend for 4 wonderful years who turned into a fiancée for about 8 wonderful months and has now been my husband for almost 5 wonderful months. He knows I dislike this day but he also knows that it behooves him to still give me a card or something. See, I like gifts and when a holiday arrives the deems gift giving then I want in.

Our first year together was quite a V day disaster...I vaguely remember having my car towed, it snowing and getting no card, no nothing from my new boyfriend! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!?? I still try to block the memories! When I calmed down enough to ask Alex why oh why? He said to me matter of factly that I said I don't celebrate the day and hate it so he respected my feeling and did nothing.

How could he listen to me like that? Doesn't he know better? Why didn't he read my mind? Just because I said I don't like the holiday does not mean I don't like chocolate or a love note.! Ohh boys, they just never understand!!

When I talked to my Dad about the whole ordeal he said to me....CLAIREEEEE how many times do I have to tell you this....Men can not read minds!!! (Really...I always thought THEY COULD!!!)  Next time just remind him days in advance, tell him what you want and then you will be happy. Your mother does that to me.

So thats what I did this year...I told Alex I wanted Chocolate covered strawberries, where I wanted them from and hopefully everything will all turn out ok.

So, to all you lovely people out there...have a happy Sunday or happy Valentine's day if you are that kind of person. XO

Happy Birthday Luna and Scout

Today is our 2 cats birthday. You ask, how is is that they both are born on the same day?....Well, Scout was adopted from the streets of North East Philly and she is just a mystery as to when she was actually born. Funny enough the Vet said that she was born about February 9th and that just happened to be Luna's birthday. So there you go! Happy Birthday our little babies...we love you and we love it even more when you keep us up all night long chatting with us and each other.
A bitty bio on them both. Luna does not like to be touched or looked at. On the rare occasion when she would like a little attention it must be on her terms. She will let you know when she is SO over you. She misses my old roommate Niki...they had a connection that no one will ever break or understand. So jealous!
Scout is a boy dog stuck in a girl cat's body and who really wishes she was a human and could eat people food all day. She does not meow...she squeaks.

If my mom or my friend Julie were getting married tomorrow than I think these heart toothbrushes with sweet name tags from Twig & Thistle would be the most appropriate wedding favor for them. Why you ask?! Well my mother is a compulsive flosser...a good habit indeed and Jules just got her braces off and now has the sweetest smile ever!!! MIssed Connections

I found out about Missed Connections on Admire & Inspire and instantly feel in love with the idea of it all. It is just sooo New York City and like the movie Serendipity.
