small living.

Alex and I recently moved from a huge (by our standards) 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment with lots of closet space. I had totally taken over the master bathroom and mater walk-in closet and Alex had claimed the guest bathroom as his own and the guest closet. It was a wonderful arrangement, but of course all good things generally come to an end. We had to move from the fabulous dirty and fun Atlantic City to the suburbs of Philadelphia. Its all good...and I know I will soon love it here. There is a Walmart down the street where I seem to find myself every day. Its an amazing place in there. Its no Target but its got alot to look at. Ohh who am I kidding...the prices are amazing.

But let me get back on tract here. We recently moved to a new place that is 1 bedroom 1 bath and we now have 1 closet in the bedroom that we both share. There is a coat closet that houses Alex's suits and causal wear (I took over 4 of the 6  dresser drawers!!) and linen closet that we have filled with tools and paper products. We had to put alot of things in storage...like all of our books and pretty things and alot of art, our dining room table and office desk. We converted a leaning book shelf into our desk. Its been a little hard not having alot of our things around but wanna know something. We are fine. We have made due with these changes. We have a comfortable home even without all of our things. I do miss the things sometimes because they were pretty little things that I have collected over the years. I miss having the books around to look at and not read. They are things that are just nice to have around. I look forward to the day when we open those boxes and each thing will hopefully bring a squeal of delight and not "why am I holding onto this again?"

Well, the other day I read about this guy features in the NY Times who lived in 178 SF Brooklyn studio apartment. And let me tell you I will never complain again and boy did he ever create an interior design master piece. Everything has its place and its so organized and neat. He said to keep the semblance of order he makes sure to make the bed every day. I was never a bed maker until living in our little space and it really makes all the difference in the world.

So check this out. For additional pictures chick here.
