Sharon and Ozzy's Home

This is Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne's home designed by Martyn Lawrence. Its not at all what I expected. I remember when they had there reality show their house was more on the dark side. A lot of black and red, more heavy. These pictures are beautiful. The light, the colors, the art, all peaceful. They make you want to go over and hang out and have a good dinner with the Osbournes. Do you like? Are you impressed?

House Crush

I was checking out Rambling Renovations the other day and Jennifer posted this home on her "Love List" and I too am 100% in love with this home. I love the clean crisp details, the grey and yellow and all the architectural details. The paneling above the fire place in the living room and in the mater bedroom is stunning and I love the double seater bar stool in the kitchen. Defiantly, something I am going to have to remember for the future. I am so impressed with  Tiek Built Homes, I am keeping them on my radar. Make sure to check out all the links...my new favorites!

Heath Ceramics

Katie passed these images along to me and I could not help but to post them. On a recent trip to California, she took a visit to Heath Ceramics and photographed these beauties. What treasures they have.  Enjoy. To see more images form her California trip click here...its worth it!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I have so much to share about the kitchen...hopefully this week. It has just been so disorganized and dusty and we have not had a kitchen about 3 weeks now that I can not and have not had any desire to really do anything anymore...including blog. Isn't that horrible. The mess is making me a mess. BUT...we got a lot done this weekend and I am feeling better. You home reno people know what I mean...I am sure.

Design blunders

When I saw this image in the Flor magazine and on line I instantly fell in love with this Sophistikat Pattern. I knew it would be just the perfect floor covering for our office. I had great great plans! Finally, I would have just what I needed to finish one room and then be inspired to move to the next room. Well, sometimes it is just better to dream about the possibilities because the reality is such a let down. Let me break it down for you.

Alex and I ordered this carpet and got a nice designer discount. It just so happened that when we ordered the product they were re doing their computer system so what we got in the mail the first go around were (25) 6" x 6" tiles. The samples sizes. No big deal, after some phone call and nice customer service we finally go the right order processed.

When we got our new order in the mail, to our big disappointment they looked NOTHING like the picture above. The colors were so muted. The white was more grey. The blue was dull and I mean none of the zig zags lined up. We spent a good hour or so on the floor trying to make this puzzle of a carpet look good. We tried to love it but could not. The color was just so blah. SO not like the picture we fell in love with. Just a total failure of an order. So the hunt continues for new carpet and the office floor once again in bare. All, I have to say is Bad Photoshop...Bad Photoshop!

An Afternoon WITH....

Michael Mundy started a blog/project about people and the spaces they live in. This is Martynka, and this is where she lives.
Martynka Wawrzyniak is a visual artist. She is also a book editor for Rizzoli. Her work can be found at www.martynka.com. Shot at her apartment in Downtown NYC.

I like being able to see into these homes, un-staged with them just living. Not perfect, just what it is.

Ikea Kitchens

I love these images of an Ikea Kitchen. Everything image looks so livable and what is really cool is that you can probably buy everything that is shown. Ikea is just excellent at styling! I am loving the white cabinets with a mixture of the glass fronts.

Knight Moves

The other day La Dolce Vita featured this house. I am just so in love with everything about it. Its clean and modern and looks like a million bucks. Every space is perfectly put together and and just oozes style. What is so great about the house is that alot of the items are from budget friendly stores like West Elm, Homegoods, Ballard Design and even Wal-Mat. My favorite room that I might store away in my design file is the little blue and orange guest room with the twin bed. The orange curtains and bed spread are both from Wal-Mat. The homeowner, Kyle Knight used curtain rings to hang the orange duvet set as curtains. To see more photos of this amazing house and find out more details about where everything is from check out the post at La Dolce Vita.

You can also check out Knight's blog called Knight Moves. I have added it to my blog roll. Her style is just too amazing to miss.

musical chairs

My parents have a chair kind of like this sitting in their garage waiting for one of use kids to take. I think painting it a super rad color like one from above would give it new life and a new reason for me to love it!! I call it brother and sister!!!
