The Beach

Hey, I am back. I hope everyone had a great week. Yesterday, I spent the last day of our vacation at the beach in Delaware! It was the perfect day. Alex and I met up with his sister and husband and our niece Gianna! We drove the car right onto the sand and spent the day in the sun. Its so hard to go back to work. Lake photos to come.

Cupcakes

I was at a party this weekend and there were handmade/by a pastry chef not from a box cupcakes. It was a high school graduation party and a lot of the comments that I heard about them were not the best. I think when kids think of cupcakes they think of out of the box, frosting out of a jar with sprinkles type cupcake. Gourmet cupcakes as I like to call them are more like cake, less moist, still delicious but more refined. I don't know, when you think cupcakes do you think Duncan Hines or Brown Betty and Crumbs?

With all that being said, I have round up some goodies to drool over!

Our New Backsplash

So you know that Kitchen Renovation that I have been in the midst of for months...well here is a picture of the new backsplash that Alex and I installed over the weekend. Its a two day projects, everything has to set overnight and when its grouted and finished and all cleaned up I will make sure to show you those results and the rest of the kitchen. We have gotten to the point where we just need to finish it. Or we will just continue to live in a half done, state of limbo space for ever.

Alex met with a wall covering installer the other day and are about to get that rolling and our friend who is a painter is going to come and paint the whole interior of the house in a couple of weeks too. We have actually selected the color which is a feat on its own!

We are in the finishing touches phase and its really getting there! I am so happy with this white subway tile, it has upgraded the look instantly!!! Till tomorrow and till more pictures...the transformation from what it was is amazing! A quick reminder of the before.

Yup, that is what it is today. But its girls night tonight and I can't wait. Its going to be a working girls night...we are all helping out for my Friend's sister's wedding! I can't wait! The best of the biz...all together! Have a good day!

I am in love with this French themed fete that I saw over on A Subtle Reverlry. Any time you use a different language I feel you up the level of chic instantly. The details are so cute and pretty simple. I think anyone can throw party like this...a little bit of merci and ohhh la la la can get you far. Tres mignon.

What I am reading...

I just started reading the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. I saw a quote from the book and decided I needed to read it right away. I am only about 70 pages into it and I already love it. It makes me want to escape to Savannah, throw a party, wander the squares ( that is how the city is laid out) and find some Spanish Moss. I think the name Savannah is a beautiful name for a girl, you could call her Savy for short. Have you read it? There is also a movie...might have to check that out when I am done.
