flower day

Alex and I were looking thru our wedding photos the other day and when I can across these photos of  the centerpieces I just smiled. I just love it all over again. We both felt like we were looking thru the photos for the very first time. I have so many memory blanks about my wedding. It just feels like a dream. Thank goodness we have such good photos to look at by Katie Stoops. Do you married people feel the same way?

Martha Stewart does Halloween

Halloween falls on a Sunday this year and if you happen to be having a wedding on Friday, Saturday or Sunday I would in most cases be totally turned off if you made it Halloween themed and taped paper bats to the wall and had little plastic spiders and pumpkins everywhere. BUT, if you happen to style your wedding after some of the goodies above by Martha Stewart then I would ask you so kindly to please invite me.

cream

How beautiful is this flower arrangement. So soft and romantic and just beautiful! I think that is Dusty Miller in there which lately I have been loving because it is so soft and fuzzy to the touch. Almost like Lamb's ear...the plant.

One year and a birthday!!!

Sunday, Alex and I will be celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and his birthday. I am so lucky to be able to celebrate us and most of all celebrate him. I love my husband to the moon and back and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. We are headed to the beach for a long weekend to enjoy this occasion and hopefully catch a couple of rays. I know Fall started on Thursday but it is still quite hot. Lots of love to everyone and have a great weekend.

beautiful

Over the weekend I managed one of the most beautiful weddings I have seen in a really long time. The florals and decor were done by Cindy from Florals by Cindy and she and them were just the most stunning, beautiful, perfect, magical person/displays ever. I only have these pictures from my Blackberry and when the professional photos are ready I will try to share them too. To try to set the scene for you just imagine, a lot of prisms and sparkle. A crystal chandler was the center piece for the name card table and the colors were pale pink, champagne, white and sage green. It was just so romantic so feminine.  I just fell in love with the pillar candles French braided with ribbon with a tear drop crystal. Isn't the fire place just beautiful. I wish I had a fire place at home to replicate the entire look. Cindy and her partner Jen were just so nice and kind and they even let me take home one of those beloved French braid candles. To top it all off, the bride was a joy to work with and so happy and beautiful that she made the decor shine even more. I am not sure how that happens but it does.

Your new best friend...

See that little knife thinger sticking up...well that baby is a Bride to be's best friend.  When all those registry gift start showing up on your door step that little knife is the best tool ever to open those boxes. Its not too sharp and very short so there is no real fear of possibly damaging what might be inside the box or cutting your self. Trust me on this one, or just try it out for yourself. You can thank me later brides and grooms to be. Isn't getting mail so fun!

etiquette

Some etiquette rules worth remembering...if you happen to be employing these tips in your life already...then Bravo.

Parties and Gifts
1. Always RSVP to a party in a timely fashion, even if you won’t be attending.

Holding off on a response makes the host feel like you’re waiting for a better offer to come along.

2. Don’t ask the host of a party for a tour of their house unless it’s a housewarming. Let them offer one if they want to.

3. If a wedding invitation specifies you and a guest, don’t call to ask if you can bring your children, too.

4. You can bring a gift for the hostess, but just make sure that it isn’t something that would preoccupy them before or during the party.

If an invitation says no gifts, don’t bring them, or else you might embarrass other gift-less guests.

5. If you've been invited to a wedding but can’t go, you should still send a wedding gift.

6. Don’t ask for cash gifts as wedding gifts. Rely on word of mouth instead.

pop up

How would you feel about a pop up alter? Maybe? Humm? I don't know. Instruction can be found here and you can buy the leaf garland here. It might look good when used with lantern decor.

Tent - awning = beautiful

I wonder how the tent company would react if you rent a tent for your event but said you did not want the covering? Isn't this effect stunning. So architectural. It makes the chandeliers look even better, and I am sure it is sooo much cooler this way. Hey, if you were almost 100% sure it was not going to rain and there was a viable plan B option, I would totally do it!

Place Cards

Do you have an event coming up that requires assigned seating? Well why not download this free template from Martha Stewart and print and write in the names in your self. I bet you could even figure out how to have the computer print out the names. Let me tell you, you can spend a fortune on name cards! A fortune. And these are so pretty.

These monogram letter templates by Martha Stewart are also perfect for that added extra detail to your event. You can print these out on any color paper and then use a 3" circle punch to cut them out. Such a cute way to sparkle up a wedding favor.

best wedding video ever

Max, Margaux, & The Marvelows from Shark Pig on Vimeo.

This video by Shark Pig of Max and Margaux's wedding makes my heart swell. Like gosh, how much fun is everyone having. What a magical night...like when the hours pass by like seconds and everyone is happy and beautiful and ohhh does the night really have to end. And, how beautiful is the spelling of Margaux....!

Clean

I was on Brooklyn Bride's site today and came across this beautiful California wedding. Its so fresh and clean and modern. I adore the draping and the paper lanterns. So much impact with such a simple design. And succulents as center pieces are just cool. I think I would have loved to be a guest at this wedding. Ohh and the bride...such a beauty. For more images check on Brooklyn Bride's site.

Wedding- Ben and Alena

Hi all, here are some pictures from my brother's wedding. Aren't they perfect? I love the shots of the "first look". They are priceless ....Alena is like...."HERE I AM...WHAT DO YOU THINK!!??" It was such a beautiful wedding and Katie of Katie Stoops Photography did the most amazing job. Katie has become like family. Her work is amazing and if you ever need someone to capture your most precious moments than she is your girl. Ben and Alena's wedding was such a happy day and both the bride and groom looked stunning and I know they will forever look back at these photos and remember what a great, special wedding they had. You can see more photos from the wedding and see other examples of Katie's work here.

Congrats to the new married couple!
