Deck the Halls....

This Sunday I am going to get all the Christmas boxes from the garage and start decorating. This year I think we are going to get a real tree!!! We have a little 3 foot fake tree that we have been using for the past couple of years due to apartment living but I think this year it is time to upgrade! We might have to do a little shopping to fill a big tree!! YEAH! I can't wait. I might have to check out multiple stores to see what is out there before I commit!!! HAHA! Alex is going to love that! Have you guys decorated yet!? I did make a swag for the front door the other day...December is already going too fast for me.

lights

Weekend in review!
Thanksgiving was a blast until every single one of us from baby to a pregnant mommy came down with a touch of Turkey Day food poisoning. Ahh, it has be a rough...alot of sleeping and chicken noodle soup. No leftovers for us!

Our block has exploded with Christmas lights and decorations. Alex and I made a little trip out to Target today to see about getting a wreath for our front door but everything was so picked thru that it was sad. We can't be the only house on the block with nothing!! Know any good places to get a pretty wreath?

I must admit I have been listening to Christmas music well before Thanksgiving! I can't wait to see everyones gift guides...I am a little clueless as to what I want to be wising for.

Happy December and Monday everyone....let the festivities begin!!!

Hooray

I know Halloween is over but it is still Fall and people are still going to be decorating with pumpkins until after Thanksgiving. I am just not of fan of fall decor. Pumpkins and gourds are just ugly and tacky to me.  I have yet to see it done right or tastefully, or modern or ever in a way that I would want to re-create. Until...now. I was was over on the blog Hooray and literally was blow away on how beautiful Alli put together her "mock Halloween" party decor. Her color combo of white, silver, gold and grays is just stunning and I could not be more impressed with the clean, simple and attractive ideas. Well done Alli! When the time comes for me to host Thanksgiving or a Fall party I will be looking to you. Check out her post for more details.

beautiful

Over the weekend I managed one of the most beautiful weddings I have seen in a really long time. The florals and decor were done by Cindy from Florals by Cindy and she and them were just the most stunning, beautiful, perfect, magical person/displays ever. I only have these pictures from my Blackberry and when the professional photos are ready I will try to share them too. To try to set the scene for you just imagine, a lot of prisms and sparkle. A crystal chandler was the center piece for the name card table and the colors were pale pink, champagne, white and sage green. It was just so romantic so feminine.  I just fell in love with the pillar candles French braided with ribbon with a tear drop crystal. Isn't the fire place just beautiful. I wish I had a fire place at home to replicate the entire look. Cindy and her partner Jen were just so nice and kind and they even let me take home one of those beloved French braid candles. To top it all off, the bride was a joy to work with and so happy and beautiful that she made the decor shine even more. I am not sure how that happens but it does.

Swing Necklace

I saw this on Design Crush the other day and could not help but post it right away. It is just amazing and I would love to have this handmade swing necklace drape any door way in my home. Talk about a statement piece. It is designed and made by Johanna Richter and comes in either gray felt or oiled beechwood. Thanks Design Crush for adding one my thing to my wish list!!

Tent - awning = beautiful

I wonder how the tent company would react if you rent a tent for your event but said you did not want the covering? Isn't this effect stunning. So architectural. It makes the chandeliers look even better, and I am sure it is sooo much cooler this way. Hey, if you were almost 100% sure it was not going to rain and there was a viable plan B option, I would totally do it!

Clean

I was on Brooklyn Bride's site today and came across this beautiful California wedding. Its so fresh and clean and modern. I adore the draping and the paper lanterns. So much impact with such a simple design. And succulents as center pieces are just cool. I think I would have loved to be a guest at this wedding. Ohh and the bride...such a beauty. Color Blast

This is what you call major color commitment...I don't think I could do it.

doily come back!

Soo simple, yet so perfect. Its a name card and table decor in one. Simply place a clear glass plate or charger over a 12" doily with your guest's name written on it and your done. I love it.
