Peep Show
This year, Alex and I are spending Easter up North and not with my family or my best friend Eliza. I am sad to not see them all but so very excited to spend Easter with my niece and great niece. Since, I am not sure if the Easter Bunny will make it here to Swarthmore Alex and I decided to make Easter baskets for each other. Marshmallow Peeps were always a standard at my house, I think they are just horrible but for some reason they always make it in the basket. I saw this post the other day that made me fall in love them ...the Split Peep Soup is my favorite!

Did you Dare...
Black Friday, Cyber Monday? Did any one wait in line all night/morning long? Brave the crowds? Get the best deal ever? See some shopping madness? Or skip it all together...(that would be me) and kinda feel like you might have missed out on the deal of the decade?! Give me a story or two? Oh and while you are at it...what am I supposed to be wanting for? I am having a little trouble coming up with my list this year.

Alternative Christmas Tree Options
2. Bruno Tree
Here are 4 modern "Green" Christmas Tree options. Makes clean up really easy and maybe you don't have to really rush to have the tree down by the end of December. I don't think I would mind so much having these around to look at for a little while longer.

A twist on a good idea...
Isn't this idea from Martha Stewart Weddings pretty?
Ball-shaped ornaments displayed in glass flutes mimic the rising bubbles. (We mixed vintage balls with clear ones.) Gather flutes in varying styles, and cluster them on a cake stand to craft a truly effervescent centerpiece.I did something similar to this idea for a friend's wedding. Its totally perfect for a winter/holiday themed wedding or even a dinner party you may be hosting. Instead of using glass flutes I gathered together a bunch of glass vases and filled them with round Christmas ornaments in sades of silver. Some of them were matte some were shiny and some were glittery. I placed tea lights around them and they sparkled away. I did not use them as center pieces because I did not want anyone's view blocked but placed them on the buffet tables for added decoration. Added bonus is that next Christmas you will have some extra decorations!

You made pink tress in vogue again! That is a feat unto it's self!
So, to honor you Blueprint here is where one and all can have a pink tree.

YOU BETTER NOT CRY....BY AUGUSTEN BURROUGHS
I picked up YOU BETTER NOT CRY the other day knowing full well that I was in for a disturbing, hilarious treat. Augusten Bourroughs cracks me up, I have read most of his books. I think Running with Scissors is my favorite. It was so funny and so wrong and I could not put it down. Bourroughs says it like it is and even when its not pretty, which most they are not. He makes you laugh about it. YOU BETTER NOT CRY asks and tries to answer some of the mysteries of Christmas, like how growing up Bourroughs had a hard time telling the difference between Jesus and Santa. When Joseph and God got thrown into the pot it even got more confusing. I mean if you break it down it is pretty confusing.
Then they had to go throw Joseph at me. Who the hell was Joseph?
It turned out, he was Mary's husband, so that made him the father of Jesus. But I was under the impression that God was Jesus's father. So was Joseph God? Was Joseph also Santa?...And what about Father Christmas? Explain that one?!
The music of the season further added to my confusion. How was I supposed to tell Santa and Jesus apart when we sang, "He knows when you've been bad or good," when it was Jesus who watched you all the time? And then when we had to sing, "Oh, come let us adore him," which one did they mean? I figured Santa, because it was on his lap we were allowed to sit. I imagined you'd probably get in trouble if you tried to sit on JesusSo, if you are looking for a holiday read....give YOU BETTER NOT CRY a try!

Ornament fun!
Twig & Thistle posted this today and I felt it needed to be shared right away. Its a wonderful winter wedding place card/favor idea and would also work great for any holiday parties that you might be throwing. You can download this black and white template on T&T Etsy website for $4 and print it on any color card stock.
Thanks Twig & Thistle for always having the BEST ideas! All you’ll need is an ornament, then simply print, cut and secure with a ribbon and you’ve got instant table decor! And at just $4 for the template it’s affordable too! *Tip: For an extra touch, hand write names on the ribbon with a fabric pen and they double as place cards!

Have you met Miss Jones?
These Button Plates are from the website "Have you met Miss Jones". Super cute right?! I was looking around on the internet and found a post about them on Lushlee, a very good site to check out. Lushlee made a excellent point about these super chic plates that needs passing on...
These adorable bone china dishes are available in three sizes. The only caveat is, the practical side of me is questioning if a dish with holes would leave a trail of crumbs behind.None the less an excellent wedding gift, Christmas gift or a gift for yourself. You could go to town with a button theme here.
dooce
The website/blog Dooce by Heather Armstrong is one of/if not my favorite website/blog that I look at every day. I love the way Heather writes, I love her photography skills and I love what she has to share! I have read one of her books and plan on reading the other when I get around to buying it. Currently, she has an amazing gift roundup for all sorts of people on her site. You must check it out. I have posted a couple of things up on Gibson King but she has soo much cool stuff posted. I want to be Heather's friend...she lives in Utah with her family so it might be kind of hard to make that happen but I am just throwing that out there.
